Life moves so quickly for us as times continue to change and the pace of life feels like one constant race to the end. I believe that if we stay present in the NOW, live each moment fully and ALIVE, we will be the best person we can be, by offering this world an awesome well balanced creative spirit!! Here are just a few things I practice regularly.

Affirmations: Affirmations are the core of my life’s journey. They are the one thing that YOU CAN DO to counter the ‘voices’ and beliefs in your head. Turn any and all negatives around; YOU have the power and strength to do so. Make AFFIRMATION CARDS using index cards with any artistic talent and carry with you all times! Make POST IT NOTES and put them all over your home and mirrors as constant reminders! CREATE AN AFFIRMATION JOURNAL: Every morning you wake up, go to your journal and write what you want your day to look like! Take charge!

Art: GLUE BOOKS OR COLLAGES are one of my favorite ways to journal. It can be so emotionally freeing to tear apart magazines, pictures and words to express anger, joy, sadness or any emotion in front of you in a POSITIVE and HEALTHY way! I found it a great form of expression when words just can’t cut it! Tell your story..AND Play: NO AGE requirement necessary! We will always be a child at heart which lies within us! If we remember this on a more stressful day, we may also remember to take care of that little child still in us. There are no rules here, have fun! Laugh! Scream! Skip! AND carry a baby picture of YOU always as a reminder!

Clothes: Wear clothes that feel comfortable to you! Don’t wait for that ‘size’ that does not exist. GIVE AWAY clothes too big or small for you NOW! CUT OUT ALL TAGS from your clothes if it helps! You are not a number manufactured by a company. You are YOU in every way! Buy and wear clothes because they make you feel and look fabulous always! Celebrate those curves, yes we do all have them!

Choose your Role Models: Who do you look up to? Fashion models and actors, magazines and movies are all a part of a world that is a small percentage of the true make up of our world that is manufactured, air brushed and scripted. If we try to be like them, we are missing out on the uniqueness in ourselves. WHO INSPIRES YOU? Go to them, if you can, and let them know. Take notice and allow people to get to know you! YOU can all be a role model for a person who needs it! Choose and take responsibility for your life and INSPIRE another!

Coping w/Feelings & Intuitive Self: NAME your feelings before they decide for you! Take a moment to IDENTIFY and BREATHE through difficult feelings by learning to listen to your body and what it is asking of you. By putting a name on them, you can stop any negative behavior before it starts and you may be surprised how ‘ok’ it is to feel a certain feeling at any given time. We are feeling individuals! If/when you are ready; you may even want to share them with someone close to you. This is a good thing!

Gratitude: HOW often do you say THANK YOU to yourself or another? It is that simple. We walk through life with so many complaints, but how often do you appreciate what you do have? Write the smallest to the largest of things and see the truth as to how blessed you are! Who knows, it may inspire you to volunteer your time and help others..

Mirrors: Mirrors can take many forms for each person. Begin by COVERING OR GETTING RID of all your mirrors. Take time getting to know you without seeing yourself. Listen to your inner self, and feel how clothes lay on you. Then SLOWLY, if you choose, take a few minutes a day to look into JUST your eyes. Who do you see in the depths of that person? VERY SLOWLY, if you choose, you can begin to look at your whole self appreciating your body AS IT IS. (Please take caution and ask for support with this exercise.)

Pledge for your LIFE! WRITE your own pledge to your body and your life. YOU are the author of your own life, no one else! What do you want YOUR VOICE to say for your life? Celebrate life, celebrate you! Carry this with you always as a reminder.

Scales: GIVE ME YOUR SCALES for our school projects or throw them away! YOU ARE NOT A NUMBER! You are you. Ask yourself how a number is determining your life and your day. Why not just live each day for how it is given to you? INSTEAD MAKE YAY SCALES! A YAY SCALE is a scale WITHOUT numbers! Write affirmations that remind you that you are phenomenal and paste them in!

YOU: YOU TIME is very important for anyone. There are so many aspects of you time. It is WATCHING what you put into your body, treating it with respect rather than carelessly. Taking time to eat meals regularly and slowly, enjoying your food and the company around you. Taking time to go for a walk, exercise and care for your body in a positive way rather than to lose in order to look like this or that. Walk with a friend you have not seen in a while! It is called quality time and your body will let you know what it needs IF you are listening!
